2020-10-30	lib/libpayload: Replace strapping_ids with new board configuration entry	Tim Wawrzynczak
	There are currently 3 different strapping ID entries in the coreboot table, which adds overhead. The new fw_config field is also desired in the coreboot table, which is another kind of strapping id. Therefore, this patch deprecates the 3 current strapping ID entries (board ID, RAM code, and SKU ID), and adds a new entry ("board_config") which provides board ID, RAM code, SKU ID, as well as FW_CONFIG together. 2020-10-30	cbfs: Hook up to new CBFS implementation	Julius Werner
	This patch hooks coreboot up to the new commonlib/bsd CBFS implementation. This is intended as the "minimum viable patch" that makes the new implementation useable with the smallest amount of changes -- that is why some of this may look a bit roundabout (returning the whole metadata for a file but then just using that to fill out the rdevs of the existing struct cbfsf). Future changes will migrate the higher level CBFS APIs one-by-one to use the new implementation directly (rather than translated into the results of the old one), at which point this will become more efficient. 2020-10-30	commonlib/bsd: Add new CBFS core implementation	Julius Werner
	This patch adds a new CBFS implementation that is intended to replace the existing commonlib/cbfs.c. The new implementation is designed to meet a bunch of current and future goals that in aggregate make it easier to start from scratch than to adapt the exisiting implementation: 1. Be BSD-licensed so it can evetually be shared with libpayload. 2. Allow generating/verifying a metadata hash for future CBFS per-file verification (see [1][2]). 3. Be very careful about reading (not mmaping) all data only once, to be suitable for eventual TOCTOU-safe verification. 4. Make it possible to efficiently implement all current and future firmware use cases (both with and without verification). The main primitive is the cbfs_walk() function which will traverse a CBFS and call a callback for every file. cbfs_lookup() uses this to implement the most common use case of finding a file so that it can be read. A host application using this code (e.g. coreboot, libpayload, cbfstool) will need to provide a <cbfs_glue.h> header to provide the glue to access the respective CBFS storage backend implementation. This patch merely adds the code, the next patch will integrate it into coreboot. 2020-10-22	drivers/smmstore: Implement SMMSTORE version 2	Patrick Rudolph
	SMMSTORE version 2 is a complete redesign of the current driver. It is not backwards-compatible with version 1, and only one version can be used at a time. Key features: * Uses a fixed communication buffer instead of writing to arbitrary memory addresses provided by untrusted ring0 code. * Gives the caller full control over the used data format. * Splits the store into smaller chunks to allow fault tolerant updates. * Doesn't provide feedback about the actual read/written bytes, just returns error or success in registers. * Returns an error if the requested operation would overflow the communication buffer. Separate the SMMSTORE into 64 KiB blocks that can individually be read/written/erased. To be used by payloads that implement a FaultTolerant Variable store like TianoCore. The implementation has been tested against EDK2 master. 2020-08-28	src: Remove incorrect x86 exception not from TS_DONE_LOADING description	Hung-Te Lin
	The TS_DONE_LOADING timestamp description had "(ignore for x86)", but the implementation in vboot_logic.c will read every bytes, so the timestamp is correct even for devices with memory mapped boot device (e.g., x86). To prevent confusion we should remove the 'ignore for x86' message. 	When CONFIG_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE=n, all verstage code gets linked into the appropriate calling stage (bootblock or romstage). This means that ENV_VERSTAGE is actually 0, and instead ENV_BOOTBLOCK or ENV_ROMSTAGE are 1. This keeps tripping up people who are just trying to write a simple "are we in verstage (i.e. wherever the vboot init logic runs)" check, e.g. for TPM init functions which may run in "verstage" or ramstage depending on whether vboot is enabled. Those checks will not work as intended for CONFIG_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE=n. This patch renames ENV_VERSTAGE to ENV_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE to try to clarify that this macro can really only be used to check whether code is running in a separate verstage, and clue people in that they may need to cover the linked-in verstage case as well. 	Serves two purposes: (1) On some platforms, FSP initialization may cause a reboot. Push clearing the recovery mode switch until after FSP code runs, so that a manual recovery request (three-finger salute) will function correctly under this condition. (2) The recovery mode switch value is needed at BS_WRITE_TABLES for adding an event to elog. (Previously this was done by stashing the value in CBMEM_ID_EC_HOSTEVENT.) 2020-01-28	commonlib: Add commonlib/bsd	Julius Werner
	This patch creates a new commonlib/bsd subdirectory with a similar purpose to the existing commonlib, with the difference that all files under this subdirectory shall be licensed under the BSD-3-Clause license (or compatible permissive license). The goal is to allow more code to be shared with libpayload in the future. Initially, I'm going to move a few files there that have already been BSD-licensed in the existing commonlib. I am also exracting most contents of the often-needed <commonlib/helpers.h> as long as they have either been written by me (and are hereby relicensed) or have an existing equivalent in BSD-licensed libpayload code. I am also relicensing <commonlib/compression.h> (written by me) and <commonlib/compiler.h> (same stuff exists in libpayload). Finally, I am extracting the cb_err error code definitions from <types.h> into a new BSD-licensed header so that future commonlib/bsd code can build upon a common set of error values. I am making the assumption here that the enum constants and the half-sentence fragments of documentation next to them by themselves do not meet the threshold of copyrightability. 2019-12-19	storage/mmc: Fix wrong frequency setting for HS speed mode	Bora Guvendik
	Emmc spec, JEDEC Standard No. 84-B51, section 6.6.2.3, selection flow of HS400 using Enhanced Strobe states that host should change frequency to ≤ 52MHz when switching to HS speed mode first. In current code, mmc_select_hs400() calls mmc_select_hs() to do this, however caps are not cleared, so when switching from HS200 to HS400, caps will still have DRVR_CAP_HS200, and mmc_recalculate_clock() will set 200Mhz instead of ≤ 52MHz. 2019-12-11	printf: Automatically prefix %p with 0x	Julius Werner
	According to the POSIX standard, %p is supposed to print a pointer "as if by %#x", meaning the "0x" prefix should automatically be prepended. All other implementations out there (glibc, Linux, even libpayload) do this, so we should make coreboot match. This patch changes vtxprintf() accordingly and removes any explicit instances of "0x%p" from existing format strings. How to handle zero padding is less clear: the official POSIX definition above technically says there should be no automatic zero padding, but in practice most other implementations seem to do it and I assume most programmers would prefer it. The way chosen here is to always zero-pad to 32 bits, even on a 64-bit system. The rationale for this is that even on 64-bit systems, coreboot always avoids using any memory above 4GB for itself, so in practice all pointers should fit in that range and padding everything to 64 bits would just hurt readability. Padding it this way also helps pointers that do exceed 4GB (e.g. prints from MMU config on some arm64 systems) stand out better from the others.
