2020-04-10Replace DEVICE_NOOP with noop_(set|read)_resourcesNico Huber
`.read_resources` and `.set_resources` are the only two device operations that are considered mandatory. Other function pointers can be left NULL. Having dedicated no-op implementations for the two mandatory fields should stop the leaking of no-op pointers to other fields. They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. 2017-09-19ec/quanta/it8518: add missing HID to SIO deviceMatt DeVillier
The ACPI spec requires devices with children to have an HID, and Windows enforces this strictly. Without the SIO device having an HID, Windows will not detect the attached PS2 keyboard and trackpad. Therefore, add the proper HID. TEST: boot Windows on google/stout, observe PS2 keyboard and trackpad detected and functional. 2017-09-19ec/quanta/it8518: correct ACPI battery data fed into ToString()Matt DeVillier
ToString() requires the input buffer data to be null-terminated, but the data returned by the EC is not, leading Windows to fail to report any battery data at all. Correct this by concatenating a null terminator (0x00) to the end of the buffer data before inputting to ToString() where needed TEST: boot Windows on google/stout, observe battery data reported correctly. 2016-02-01drivers/pc80: Add PS/2 mouse presence detectTimothy Pearson
On certain Winbond SuperIO devices, when a PS/2 mouse is not present on the auxiliary channel both channels will cease to function if the auxiliary channel is probed while the primary channel is active. Therefore, knowledge of mouse presence must be gathered by coreboot during early boot, and used to enable or disable the auxiliary PS/2 port before control is passed to the operating system. Add auxiliary channel PS/2 device presence detect, and update the Winbond W83667HG-A driver to flag the auxiliary channel as disabled if no device was detected. 2015-04-29kbuild: automatically include ECsStefan Reinauer
This change switches all ECs and the generic EC ACPI code to be autoincluded by Makefile.inc, rather than having to be mentioned explicitly in ec/Makefile.inc or in ec/<vendor>/Makefile.inc. This means, vendor and ec directories are now "drop in", e.g. be placed in the coreboot directory hierarchy without having to modify any higher level coreboot files. The long term plan is to enable out of tree components to be built with a given coreboot version (given that the API did not change). The in source comment: /* This function avoids an error on serial console. */ refers to the resource allocator needing to find a non-NULL function pointer else complaints of "... missing read_resources" will be spewed. Unfortunately/fortunately (depending on the time of day) compiler optimisers have gotten a bit better at optimising away no-op functions leading to the very message these stubs attempted to avoid. By using the DEVICE_NOOP formalism that is static inlined 'suggests' (not enforces) to the compiler to keep these symbols around.
