The QEMU machine "PC" doesn't support MCFG. Die after console init if the user selected the wrong qemu machine and print a message to use the correct machine type. Without this patch ramstage dies with non-helpful message: "get_pbus: dev is NULL!" 2019-07-04arch/x86: Adjust size of postcar stackKyösti Mälkki
With VBOOT=y && VBOOT_MEASURED_BOOT=y message digest will be allocated from the stack and 1 KiB reserve used with the recent platforms was no longer sufficient. The comment of LZMA scratchpad consuming stack was obsolete for postcar, so these can be reduced to same 4 KiB. 2019-03-05mb/qemu-{i440fx,q35}: Use POSTCAR stage to load the ramstageArthur Heymans
Qemu does not have a real CAR but postcar stage is still useful for testing the stage. The postcar stage is also mandatory for x86_64 to setup pagetables for x86_64 ramstage. Do not set up MTRRs, as qemu ignores them anyways. Tested on qemu-i440fx and qemu-q35. 2019-03-01ACPI: Rename FADT model and set it to zeroElyes HAOUAS
INT_MODEL defined in ACPI 1.0 and renamed to reserved since V 2.0. The value for this field is zero but 1 is allowed to maintain compatibility with ACPI 1.0. So set this value to zero as we are using greater version than ACPI 1.0. 2019-01-14console: Change BOOTBLOCK_CONSOLE default to `y`Nico Huber
Invert the default instead of selecting it everywhere. Restores the ability to use its Kconfig prompt. Beside Qemu targets, the only platforms that didn't select it seem to be samsung/exynos5420, intel/cannonlake, and intel/icelake. The latter two were about to be patched anyway. Current implementation works by luck as DCACHE area is actually RAM and stack can grow and use that RAM outside of the area. * Set DCACHE_BSP_STACK_SIZE to 0x4000. * Add an assert to make sure it is set to a sane value on all platforms. HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE is used to enable certain options that rely on a valid Inter Flash Descriptor to exist. It does *not* identify platforms or boards that are capable of running in descriptor mode if it's valid. Refine the help text to make this clear. Introduce a new option INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE that does simply declare that IFD is supported by the platform. Select this value everywhere instead of the HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE and default HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE to y if INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE is selected. Move the QEMU Q35 special case (deselection of HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE) to the mainboard directory. Doing PCI config operations via MMIO window by default is a requirement, if supported by the platform. This means chipset or CPU code must enable MMCONF operations early in bootblock already, or before platform-specific romstage entry. Platforms are allowed to have NO_MMCONF_SUPPORT only in the case it is actually not implemented in the silicon.
