2019-08-11arch/x86: Flip option NO_CAR_GLOBAL_MIGRATIONKyösti Mälkki
It is easier to track CAR_GLOBAL_MIGRATION which is the approach to be deprecated with the next release. 2019-04-01vboot: Select CONFIG_VBOOT_OPROM_MATTERS in more casesJulius Werner
This patch enables CONFIG_VBOOT_OPROM_MATTERS in a few more cases where I think(?) it should be. Haswell, Broadwell and Baytrail Chromebooks have this enabled in their old depthcharge firmware branches -- we presumably just forgot to move it over when vboot2 migrated the option to coreboot. Braswell didn't, but it seems like this requirement was added when it was migrated to FSP 1.1...? (Not very sure about that one, but it does call load_vbt() right now which executes things based on display_init_required().) Additionally, it seems to make sense to enable it whenever the user explicitly selects VGA_ROM_RUN in menuconfig (like one of the Intel defconfigs does). Once we have all this, one could take a step back and ask whether this option still makes sense at all anymore. It's enabled for almost all devices (that work with vboot at all), it will presumably be enabled for all future devices, and it seems that most devices that don't enable it use libgfxinit, which as far as I can tell isn't gated on display_init_required() but probably should be. Realistically, whatever kind of display init a board needs to do (native or option ROM), it's probably expensive enough that it's worth skipping on a normal mode vboot boot, and we'd want to have this enabled by default on everything except boards that actually don't have a display. So maybe we should flip it around to CONFIG_VBOOT_OPROM_DOESNT_MATTER, but doing that would probably lead to nobody ever selecting it at all. Not sure what the best solution there is yet, but I think this patch at least moves things in the more correct direction. 2018-09-13src/*/intel/: clarify Kconfig options regarding IFDStefan Tauner
HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE is used to enable certain options that rely on a valid Inter Flash Descriptor to exist. It does *not* identify platforms or boards that are capable of running in descriptor mode if it's valid. Refine the help text to make this clear. Select this value everywhere instead of the HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE and default HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE to y if INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE is selected. Move the QEMU Q35 special case (deselection of HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE) to the mainboard directory. 2017-03-28vboot: Select SoC-specific configuration for all Chrome OS boardsJulius Werner
Some Chrome OS boards previously didn't have a hardcoded vboot configuration (e.g. STARTS_IN_BOOTBLOCK/_ROMSTAGE, SEPARATE_VERSTAGE, etc.) selected from their SoC and mainboard Kconfig files, and instead relied on the Chrome OS build system to pass in those options separately. Since there is usually only one "best" vboot configuration for a certain board and there is often board or SoC code specifically written with that configuration in mind (e.g. memlayout), these options should not be adjustable in menuconfig and instead always get selected by board and SoC Makefiles (as opposed to some external build system). (Removing MAINBOARD_HAS_CHROMEOS from Urara because vboot support for Pistachio/MIPS was never finished. Trying to enable even post-romstage vboot leads to weird compiler errors that I don't want to track down now. Let's stop pretending this board has working Chrome OS support because it never did.) 2015-10-05Add EM100 'hyper term' spi console support in ramstage & smmMartin Roth
The EM100Pro allows the debug console to be sent over the SPI bus. This is not yet working in romstage due to the use of static variables in the SPI driver code. It is also not working on chipsets that have SPI write buffers of less than 10 characters due to the 9 byte command/header length specified by the EM100 protocol. While this currently works only with the EM100, it seems like it would be useful on any logic analyzer with SPI debug - just filter on command bytes of 0x11. 2015-02-25soc/intel/baytrail/Kconfig: Remove explicit `HAVE_MONOTONIC_TIMER`Paul Menzel
Fix up commit ce7ecf9c (baytrail: enable monotonic timer), which selected `HAVE_MONOTONIC_TIMER` explicitly, although it is already selected by `TSC_MONOTONIC_TIMER` (cf. `src/cpu/x86/Kconfig`). Therefore remove the explicit selection of that Kconfig option. 2015-01-27vboot2: add verstageStefan Reinauer
This reverts the revert commit 5780d6f3876723b94fbe3653c9d87dad6330862e and fixes the build issue that cuased it to be reverted. Verstage will host vboot2 for firmware verification. It's a stage in the sense that it has its own set of toolchains, compiler flags, and includes. This allows us to easily add object files as needed. But it's directly linked to bootblock. This allows us to avoid code duplication for stage loading and jumping (e.g. cbfs driver) for the boards where bootblock has to run in a different architecture (e.g. Tegra124). To avoid name space conflict, verstage symbols are prefixed with verstage_. TEST=Built with VBOOT2_VERIFY_FIRMWARE on/off. Booted Nyan Blaze.
