2018-12-18util/board_status.sh: Fix command for fetching the kernel logArthur Heymans
94b761c8e (util/board_status: run dmesg with sudo) attempted to fetch the console as root locally but instead sudo was put in front of the remote path which runs as root anyways. Also unless quotation marks are used the cmd function will see 'sudo' and 'dmesg' as separate aruguments. 2018-11-18util/board_status: run dmesg with sudoPatrick Georgi
Newer kernels only allow root to access the kernel log buffer. In another case (cbmem) we use sudo to get past that, so we can expect sudo to be available here, too. 2018-09-17board-status: Only store CBMEM console from last bootPaul Menzel
Since CBMEM console became a ring buffer, logs from several boots can be stored. We are only interested in the current boot. > -c | --console: print cbmem console > -1 | --oneboot: print cbmem console for last boot only For CBMEM time stamps only the time stamps of the current boot are stored, so only the commands for the CBMEM console need to be adapted. 2018-02-16board_status: Make board_status more friendly for local usageDavid Hendricks
board_status.sh was originally written for use cases where the DUT is remote, i.e. accessed via serial port or SSH. This lead to some issues when attempting to run the script on the DUT itself. This patch attempts to handle the local use case more gracefully. sudo is used when running the cbmem command, and the '-c' option can be used to set cbmem path in case it's not in the default path used by sudo. The ROM content (CBFS content) captured with cbfstool build/coreboot.rom print is useful for two reasons. 1. With the used configuration for the build in `.config`, it can be compared how the size for romstage and ramstage change over time. To make that reproducible the used toolchain should also be stored somewhere in the future. 2. With the CBFS content the time stamps can be better interpreted. For example, the size of the payload file is needed to interpret the time stamp for loading the payload. 2013-11-17board_status.sh: add support for non-fatal commandsDavid Hendricks
This adds cmd_nonfatal() for commands which are considered non-essential and can be expected to fail safely. This can be used, for example, to gather data that is generated when using non-standard utilities or coreboot config options. 2013-11-17board_status.sh: move show_help()David Hendricks
This is really only a cosmetic change, but is intended to make it slightly easier to remember to update the help menu whenever options change. 2013-11-17board_status.sh: Make clobber option use 'C' instead of 'c'David Hendricks
Clobbering output is only really useful when debugging the script. Since we're only using short options, let's save 'c' for something more important. 2013-11-17Updates to the board status scriptDavid Hendricks
This is the first major re-work for the board status script. Summary: - Added a command to the getrevision.sh script to retrieve tagged revision. - Results are placed in a dynamically generated temporary location. This makes it easy to do multiple trial runs and avoids polluting the coreboot directory. - Results are stored in a directory with the following form: <vendor>/<mainboard>/<tagged_revision>/<timestamp>/ Vendor and mainboard are obtained from CONFIG_MAINBOARD_DIR so that hierarchy is consistent between coreboot and board-status. - The results directory is used as the commit message. - board-status repository is checked out automatically if results are to be uploaded. TODO: - Add ability to run commands which may fail. Currently we assume any failure should terminate the script, but some commands can be made optional. Successfully uploaded first result to board-status repository. See http://review.coreboot.org/gitweb?p=board-status.git;a=summary . This just moves stuff to be more clear about the purpose of the script. Other suggestions are welcome.
