2019-01-16arch: Make the ISA register types aliases for the global types.Gabe Black
The ISA specific types can thus be phased out. Change-Id: I8ea531a099fad140a4ec9c91cd972fe044111d60 Reviewed-on: https://gem5-review.googlesource.com/c/13623 Reviewed-by: Jason Lowe-Power <jason@lowepower.com> Maintainer: Jason Lowe-Power <jason@lowepower.com>
2018-10-17arch: Get rid of the unused type AnyReg.Gabe Black
This type is defined for all the ISAs but isn't used by anything. Change-Id: I659a0c5abc7883d82fedd1cac2cd103612d315c8 Reviewed-on: https://gem5-review.googlesource.com/c/13539 Reviewed-by: Andreas Sandberg <andreas.sandberg@arm.com> Maintainer: Andreas Sandberg <andreas.sandberg@arm.com>
2017-07-05cpu: Added interface for vector reg fileRekai Gonzalez-Alberquilla
This patch adds some more functionality to the cpu model and the arch to interface with the vector register file. This change consists mainly of augmenting ThreadContexts and ExecContexts with calls to get/set full vectors, underlying microarchitectural elements or lanes. Those are meant to interface with the vector register file. All classes that implement this interface also get an appropriate implementation. This requires implementing the vector register file for the different models using the VecRegContainer class. This change set also updates the Result abstraction to contemplate the possibility of having a vector as result. The changes also affect how the remote_gdb connection works. There are some (nasty) side effects, such as the need to define dummy numPhysVecRegs parameter values for architectures that do not implement vector extensions. Nathanael Premillieu's work with an increasing number of fixes and improvements of mine. 2017-07-05arch, cpu: Architectural Register structural indexingNathanael Premillieu
Replace the unified register mapping with a structure associating a class and an index. It is now much easier to know which class of register the index is referring to. Also, when adding a new class there is no need to modify existing ones. 2015-07-26cpu: implements vector registersNilay Vaish
This adds a vector register type. The type is defined as a std::array of a fixed number of uint64_ts. The isa_parser.py has been modified to parse vector register operands and generate the required code. Different cpus have vector register files now.
2013-10-15cpu: add a condition-code register classYasuko Eckert
Add a third register class for condition codes, in parallel with the integer and FP classes. No ISAs use the CC class at this point though.
2013-10-15cpu: rename *_DepTag constants to *_Reg_BaseSteve Reinhardt
Make these names more meaningful. Specifically, made these substitutions: s/FP_Base_DepTag/FP_Reg_Base/g; s/Ctrl_Base_DepTag/Misc_Reg_Base/g; s/Max_DepTag/Max_Reg_Index/g;
2012-06-08Power: Fix MaxMiscDestRegs which was set to zeroAndreas Hansson
This patch fixes a failing compilation caused by MaxMiscDestRegs being zero. According to gcc 4.6, the result is a comparison that is always false due to limited range of data type.
2012-06-05O3: Clean up the O3 structures and try to pack them a bit better.Ali Saidi
DynInst is extremely large the hope is that this re-organization will put the most used members close to each other.
2012-04-23ISA: Put parser generated files in a "generated" directory.Gabe Black
This is to avoid collision with non-generated files.
2011-01-03Make commenting on close namespace brackets consistent.Steve Reinhardt
Ran all the source files through 'perl -pi' with this script: s|\s*(};?\s*)?/\*\s*(end\s*)?namespace\s*(\S+)\s*\*/(\s*})?|} // namespace $3|; s|\s*};?\s*//\s*(end\s*)?namespace\s*(\S+)\s*|} // namespace $2\n|; s|\s*};?\s*//\s*(\S+)\s*namespace\s*|} // namespace $1\n|; Also did a little manual editing on some of the arch/*/isa_traits.hh files and src/SConscript.
2010-08-25ARM: Fixed register flattening logic (FP_Base_DepTag was set too low)Min Kyu Jeong
When decoding a srs instruction, invalid mode encoding returns invalid instruction. This can happen when garbage instructions are fetched from mispredicted path
2009-10-27POWER: Add support for the Power ISATimothy M. Jones
This adds support for the 32-bit, big endian Power ISA. This supports both integer and floating point instructions based on the Power ISA Book I v2.06.
